The Kauffman Foundation and the National Postdoctoral Association have joined to create a first-of-its-kind recognition program that encourages and rewards postdoctoral entrepreneur excellence.
The Kauffman Foundation Outstanding Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Award and the Emerging Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Award will honor scholars who have taken the entrepreneurial leap. The Outstanding Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Award includes a $10,000 honorarium to an entrepreneur who has taken steps to bring his or her research to market. The Emerging Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Award includes $2,500 for an entrepreneur seeking to commercialize his or her discoveries. Nominations are due November 2, 2009.
